自從回到Handel House Museum 義工之後，我對Georgian England 產生極大的興趣，

興趣遠遠超越我的論文題目，每次坐在電腦前面就一直google有關那個時期的一切，真不知道該怎麼辦!!

但是真的好喜歡那個時代，不論是建築，穿著，音樂，是那麼的清楚，邏輯，簡單，典雅，................噢!!!

今天在博物館看了裡面一本書"The Georgians" 很像是童書的感覺，但裡面的內容我很喜歡

原來喬治一世接王位之後很多英國人都不高興....

在Queen Anne 1714年去世後，George 接了王位，其實英國王室有很多人的血緣關係都更親近Anne,但是他們都是Roman Catholics (天主教),

當時法律規定天主教徒不能接王位，而George 是與Anne血緣最近的Protestant (新教),因此就是他了，但是很多英國人認為應該是血緣較近的James Stuart來接才是，這群擁護他的人被稱為Jacobites,常有秘密集會，但是他們的勢力致使至終都沒有對政局有太大的影響。

當然在博物館看到的一切可以說是上流社會的世界，

畢竟韓德爾穿梭在眾George"s" 之間，

從不同角度看那個社會，下層社會其實過得並沒有那麼好

話題回到我看的那本書，裡面還有介紹喬治時期wig=formal

上流社會的人出門都會戴假髮，並配戴一把劍

有文獻紀錄，曾經有人accidentally raised someone's wig by his sword = = (旁邊還附了一張圖...XD 我想那人應該是故意的XD)

說到假髮  今天聽到一位tour guide 說到  Handel's dressing room was actually the 'powdering room' because they powder the wig before wearing it. Powdering is a messy work so it need to be done in a seperate room. 

那本書裡還有一張圖是把一棟喬治時期房子的剖面圖，可以清楚看到每一層裡面有什麼東西

底層是廚房和laundry, first floor is dining room, second floor is drawing room, third floor is bedroom, top floor is the servant's room. 那也是整本書裡我最喜歡的一張圖。也許也是因為它是手繪的。

今天只能說到這裡因為實在是太多事情要做了。。。。。
